Our Services

At Littlefield, we are dedicated to all kids growth and learning. We address the comprehensive needs of the children in our community by providing Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy all under one roof. Because a child’s “job” is to play and learn, we are committed to providing a naturalistic, playful environment and our therapist use creativity and evidence-based practice to maximize a child’s development in this natural play setting.

Our families thrive in the interactive environment including meeting other special needs families and appreciate how our space prepares their child for the real world. If you want to see how our kids succeed stop by and enjoy our integrated play space and note the beauty of relationships being forged without barriers.

SPEECH THERAPY

Our speech therapists help children with their communication skills to specifically address articulation and apraxia issues, receptive and expressive language delays and/or use of augmentative communication.

Our primary goal is to help children communicate, develop interpersonal communication skills and to enjoy the process of developing these skills as they grow. An important part of intervention includes teaching parents and caregivers skills to stimulate their child’s communication skills.

We are here to help support you and your child to improve communication skills. If you have completed the evaluation with one of our Speech-Language Pathologists and the therapist has recommended services we cannot wait to get started helping your child reach their goals.  If you have not had an assessment appointment please contact our scheduling department at 855-469-7275.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

A child’s “occupations” include playing, self care, and learning. Our occupational therapists can evaluate a child’s skills in activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, grooming), fine motor skills (including handwriting), concentration and memory skills, or sensory processing and compare them to what is developmentally appropriate for their age group.

Occupational therapy uses purposeful activities to minimize the effects of disease, injury, congenital deficit, disability, or developmental delay. At Littlefield Physical Therapy, therapy is designed to feel like play. Swinging, crawling through tunnels and crashing into soft foam mats are exciting ways for children to build their core strength and sensory reactions.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Pediatric physical therapists are rehabilitation professionals trained in the sensory and motor aspects of normal development and are qualified to evaluate and treat the special needs of infants and children. Physical therapists help the child to improve their ability to move, function and play in efficient and variable ways.

Our physical therapists collaborate with parents, physicians, and other care providers to establish the child’s individual physical therapy goals and treatment plan. Treatment sessions may include the promotion of symmetry of motion, balance, bilateral coordination, walking and other developmental activities using toys and equipment appropriate for each child.

Our physical therapists are also able to address the use of orthotic and other assistive devices such as gait trainers and wheelchairs in order to best promote participation within the child’s community.
